There are numerous casinos located in the state, the majority on moored river boats. The biggest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an American Indian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gaming space, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, like vingt-et-un, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and several varieties of poker; including 3 eatery’s, monthly shows, and betting lessons. A further substantial Indian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and 4 eatery’s. There are several other popular Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slot machines, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a river boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. Another Iowa riverboat casino, The Isle of Capri, is available never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. water based casino in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday vingt-et-un events.

Iowa casinos present a great deal of tax income to the state of Iowa, which has enabled the bankrolling of a good many commonwealth wide projects. Tourism has grown at an accelerated percentage accompanied with the requirement for companies and a growth in employment. Iowa gambling halls have been instrumental to the growth of the market, and the excitement for gambling in Iowa is widespread.
