Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which casino wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a generally tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect spot, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, financing sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling hall, contains 150 one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that highlights numerous comforts accompanying the gambling hall, which has ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight tables.
