Zimbabwe gambling halls

The entire process of living in Zimbabwe is somewhat of a gamble at the moment, so you could envision that there might be very little affinity for supporting Zimbabwe’s gambling dens. Actually, it seems to be operating the opposite way, with the atrocious economic circumstances leading to a bigger desire to bet, to try and locate a quick win, a way out of the crisis.

For the majority of the people living on the tiny nearby money, there are two popular types of gaming, the state lotto and Zimbet. Just as with most everywhere else on the planet, there is a state lottery where the odds of succeeding are surprisingly small, but then the prizes are also extremely big. It’s been said by financial experts who study the situation that the majority don’t purchase a card with an actual expectation of profiting. Zimbet is based on either the domestic or the United Kingston football divisions and involves predicting the results of future games.

Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, on the other shoe, cater to the extremely rich of the society and sightseers. Up until not long ago, there was a very substantial sightseeing industry, built on safaris and trips to Victoria Falls. The economic collapse and associated conflict have cut into this trade.

Among Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, there are 2 in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has five gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree gambling hall, which has just the slot machines. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has just slot machines. Mutare has the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the two of which contain table games, one armed bandits and video poker machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the pair of which have slot machines and table games.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s casinos and the above alluded to lottery and Zimbet (which is quite like a parimutuel betting system), there are also 2 horse racing complexes in the country: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the second city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Since the market has deflated by more than 40 percent in recent years and with the associated poverty and crime that has come to pass, it is not well-known how healthy the vacationing industry which is the backbone of Zimbabwe’s casinos will do in the near future. How many of the casinos will survive until conditions get better is merely not known.
